Enter The World of Marco Polo
Now I may be jumping the gun here; but I have to say I’m hugely impressed with Netflix original series Marco Polo so far.
Granted I have only seen 2 episodes so far, but the signs are really promising for a show that has been likened by critics in style and sheer quality to the all conquering Game of Thrones.
Set in ancient China, son of an Italian tradesman, Marco Polo is a pawn in a larger game as he is left by his father in this foreign land controlled by Kublai Khan.
Khan has designs not just for the domination of China, but Mongolia and the whole world. He is apposed by parts of his own family and other power hungry men who have a very different design for ruling these lands.
