Bellator makes wonderful acquisition with Phil Davis

Bellator has made some good acquisitions in bringing in former UFC talent but their latest signing may be their most wonderful yet.

In a news release, the promotion announced that it had signed UFC veteran Phil “Mr. Wonderful” Davis to a contract. The NCAA Division I All-American from Penn State brings an impressive 13-3 record with one no contest and wins over several notable fighters including Pride veteran Rogério Nogueira, former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida and title contender Alexander Gustafsson. Prior to signing with Bellator, Davis won four of his last six fights. His last bout was in January where he dropped a split-decision to “TUF 8” tournament winner Ryan Bader.

Davis has had a glimpse of the Bellator landscape from the eyes of his Alliance MMA teammates Joey Beltran and former lightweight titleholder Michael Chandler.
